Within EU program Socrates, our school has joined a three-year project with an international participation.
Another three schools work on this project. In this year each of the schools has worked independently and has collected, sorted out and elaborated facts in group work. We will deal with Czech fairy tales and legends generally, however we will be especially interested in the regional legends and we will try to find out about their origins and history. We would like to visit castles, chateaus and historical centers of our country which will help us to work on the project. We would like to show the unique particles of our history on the particular examples.

In a week of 10 - 14 November 2003 we took part in several actions called Comenius Week. Our school participated in two of the offered actions: Postcards and On-line quiz.
Students of classes I.G and IV.G sent postcards to all Czech schools that joined this action. As a reward we got about 50 postcards from all parts of the Czech Republic.
It took place on 12 November. Our students could join the given site between 9.30 -12.30 that day. For each school only one team took part. The team consisted of five students. They answered questions and they could use various aids like maps, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, text-books, the Internet. Help from other studernts and teachers was not allowed. The test consisted of 25 questions concerning member and new member countries. They had to be answered within 60 minutes. The number of correct answers decided about the winner. In case of equality of answers, the winner was the faster team. Our team consisted of Michal Babčaník, Petr Messner, Alexandr Kuchař, Jan Tejrovský and Václav Joza. They enrolled the test at ten and they finished in half an hour.
The same evening we received a letter:
Good evening from Prague, I would like to confirm that your school has won the on-line quiz of the Comenius Week, B-cathegory. All the answers were right and you answered within the shortest time. In the appendix, I am sending you an invitation for a news conference where you will receive the prize.
