Second workshop

The second workshop took place in Geithain on December 6-9,2005. Our group consisted of students Monika Zebischová, Irena Havránková (3. G), Martina Podběhlá a Michaela Mlejnková (sexta) and teachers Mgr. L. Cvrčková and Mgr. Š. Vajdečková.

The students were accommodated at the German friends’ families and had a great opportunity to learn about advent time in Germany. The Geithain Grammar school had prepared a great programme. One of the parts of the programme was presentation of our work. Our school showed the Internet sites that are made by student Petr Messenr / oktáva/ and also we talked about our future plans / e.g. a survey of music interests in each country elaborated by M. Zebischová/ We also presented a film about a birthplace of Bedřich Smetana, which was very successful. This film was made by student Karel Polák /4.G/. Our postcards designs were handed in and one of our works won- the work of A. Kolaříková and M. Pícková.

Another part of the programme was a visit of Leipzig which was very nice as the decoration made us feel very Christmassy. An extremely experienced guide showed us around the city and we were also taken into places connected with German music e.g. Thomaskirche – J.S. Bach’s place of work.

Then we could go to see a concert of a student’s rock group and school chorus where we could listen to English hits and also to German folk music and songs. At the end we could hear the anthem of EU Ode to Joy. The entire workshop was very nice and pleasant and we are looking forward the next meeting in Italian Fermo, in March 2006.
