Project Kořeny (Roots)
For those, who like dancing, there are many opportunities in Klášterec. There are ballet and modern dances in Basic Art school; break dance; hip hop dance; and social dancing in dance club Styl.
Dance club Styl was established in 1988 by Petra a Zdeněk Novotní. In that time it was set in Kas on the Petlerská Street. Nowadays we trained in the Culture house. Dance club Styl is there for those, who want dance dances like waltz, valse, polka, cha-cha, samba, rumba, jive, paso doble, mambo, can-can, cabaret and the belly dances. These days DC Styl has about 20 members. All the members are at the age of 15 - 20. We perform their dancing on balls and other social actions. We don't dance only in Klášterec, but we also were for example in Grand Hotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary, in Chodov, Jáchymov, Žatec, Prague and in Holland too. On our performances we often meet famous people from Czech show bussiness for example Michal David, Petr Muk, Láďa Kerndl, Milan Drobný, Petr Rychlý etc.
We train three times a week, every year we have new performances and these days we have five shows:
Latin - it is a mix of Latin dances - jive, rumba, cha-cha, Paso doble, samba and rock-and-roll;
Standard - it is a mix of waltz, valse and quickstep;
Polka
Cabaret - girls dancing in tailcoat and hat with a cane
Cancan - French dance performed by girls
And the other are prepared: Belly dancers, Mambo from Dirty dancing ...
